Rihanna (32), who is ranked 21st on Forbes’ list of the richest women who built their own fortunes, drew attention as the youngest billionaire.

As the only billionaire under 40 on the list, Rihanna’s $1.4 billion fortune comes partly from her music career and partly from three retail companies Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin and Savage X Fenty.

Another notable name on the Forbes list is Kim Kardashian, with a fortune of $1.8 billion. Also among the billionaire women who have built their own wealth are Oprah Winfrey and Sheryl Sandberg. Rihanna, who was on the billionaire list before, announced to the New York Times in 2019 that she never planned to make a fortune, and that such titles would not prevent her from working.

“MONEY WAS NOT THE PURPOSE FOR ME”

Rihanna said, “Money has not been the goal for me; was always a tool by which I could help someone else. The world can really make you believe that the wrong things come first, and that makes you really miss the essence of life, what it means to be alive.”
