It is often said that two old friends will fight for the success of the same team again.

Luis Suarez’s future remains uncertain after he leaves Atletico Madrid in May 2022.

Suarez and Messi won numerous trophies at Barcelona between 2014 and 2020, including four La Liga titles and the Champions League.

The two left Camp Nou harshly, and his close friend Messi supported him with an emotional post on Instagram that included the following words:

“It will be strange to see you in another jersey and it will be even stranger to play against you.

“You deserved a farewell that suited your identity. You are one of the most important players in the history of the club.

“You’re a footballer who has achieved great things for the team and on an individual level.”

Could Suarez and Messi reunite in Miami?

Suarez is said to be transferring to MLS after he turns 35 after suggestions that he wants to end his career in the United States.

Latin American broadcaster DIRECTV Sports has claimed that Messi will sign for Inter Miami when he becomes a free agent on June 30, 2023.

Messi’s circle denied the reports through French broadcaster Le Parisien.

“It’s a complete lie. Leo hasn’t decided on his future yet.”

And Suarez ruled out the possibility of the two friends reuniting at Inter Miami anytime soon.

“Do you play with Messi at Inter Miami? This is not real. A lot is being said. We players can’t go out 24 hours a day and deny what they say.

“We let them talk, we let them say. Leo’s future is in Paris. I don’t know where he would like to retire,” Suarez told Último al Arco de Sport 890.

“I now have a project that is at the sports level. And then I’ll discuss that with my family. Then, we can both start living in Barcelona.

“Yes, because we are friends, our families love each other. They speculate, they talk a lot, they sell a lot. They have to stop it.”

Where can Luis Suarez play next season?

Suarez is believed to have had three offers to stay in Europe. Aston Villa, who are likely to reunite with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard, are among the candidates.

He also explained that he has several offers to continue in Spain and that he is evaluating them.

“Spain? Obviously someone left a great legacy here, I’m proud of the career I had here.”

“I’ve had some offers from here, but I’m still analyzing. I want to see a project to compete at a high level.”

The Uruguayan star was also rumored to be able to join River Plate in Argentina. However, this move was shelved for now after the team lost in the round of 16 of the Libertadores Copa.

On the other hand, Suarez is often associated with his childhood team, Nacional.

But with all this news, “Two old friends are getting back together; Suarez and Messi will meet at Inter Miami.”
